the exhibition will run until November 30, 2025

The FSh1 photo book collection is a selection of publications by Belarusian and foreign authors whose main theme is Belarus. These are diverse books and zines that document, interpret, and comment on the social, cultural, and political life of the country. The collection shows a wealth of perspectives—from personal narratives to visual experiments—and is an important testimony to contemporary Belarusian photography. During the exhibition in Katowice, we will present selected titles that best reflect this diversity and can introduce the audience to the world of Belarusian photobooks. Currently, the FSh1 collection includes about 30 publications. Some of them are presented in Katowice, and the complete collection will form the basis of a library that will soon open in Warsaw.

FSh1 is an independent initiative supporting Belarusian photographers and helping them integrate into the Polish photographic community. To this end, the platform organizes public events, discussions, educational programs, and collects photobooks and zines by Belarusian artists. It also actively promotes Belarusian photography internationally. In addition to its program activities, FSh1 regularly presents profiles of Belarusian photographers on the internet and runs media projects. The platform is open to collaboration with artists, curators, institutions, and initiatives that share its interest in photography and cultural exchange.
