Franek Ammer
Multimedia artist and a curator of Fotofestiwal in Lodz, Poland. Prior to joining the Fotofestiwal collective, he co-founded the TIFF International Photography Festival.
He has devoted a significant part of his career to exploring the medium of photobooks and popularizing them in Poland, resulting in numerous exhibitions, lectures, and collaborations. Within Fotofestiwal, he is responsible for the festival program, exhibition coordination, and primarily the photobook section.
Over the years, he has been involved in various collaborative projects, such as the artistic company Eternal Shipping Ltd., the photobook publishing collective 19 Rivers, and Localhost TV—a platform connecting DJs,music producers, and visual artists, set to launch in 2026. He lectures at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz and the University of the Arts in Poznan.
Jakub Dziewit
Artist and visual researcher, Doctor of Fine Arts, anthropologist, curator, and publisher of photography books. Founder and co-director of the Paper Photo Festival, editor-in-chief of photobooks.pl, president of the unContemporary Foundation, and head of the Department of Photography at the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa.
Author of the photobooks This is not another Martin Parr exhibition and Desires of meaning, as well as photo-performances and over a dozen solo photography exhibitions presented at renowned Polish and international galleries. Author of the academic monographs Cameras and Images. Toward a Cultural History of Photography and Ocalać. Zofia Rydet and Vernacular Photography (co-authored with Adam Pisarek), and co-editor of the volume Looking and Seeing in Cultural Studies Contexts.
In his creative work, he combines photography with intermedia installations and performative actions.
Magdalena Guzik
A representative of the Museum of Photography in Krakow on the PPF jury.
Graduate of the Marian Schmidt School of Photography in Warsaw. A photographer and author of texts on photography published in the online catalogue of a themed gallery, as well as audio description scripts for photographs from the MuFo collection. She specialises in medium-format double exposure, documentary photography and portraiture. She enjoys natural light, urban landscapes and unhurried travels. She collects photography books and graphic novels. She runs her own photography workshops. She works in the reading room of the MuFo Library in Kraków.
Aneta Kowalczyk
Self-taught graphic designer, photo editor, book designer, and art director of BLOW UP PRESS, an independent publishing house specialising in photo- and art books. Her approach to book design is rooted in the belief that a book is not only a container for images, but a space where form and content work together to express its meaning and create a deeper experience for the reader. For her, each project begins with the story it wants to tell, with design serving as a tool to shape its character and amplify its impact.
She has collaborated with photographers, artists, and institutions internationally. Her book designs have been recognised by some of the most prestigious international competitions, including Les Rencontres d’Arles Book Awards, Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, Lucie Photo Book Award, PHotoESPAÑA, European Design Awards, and Prix Bob Calle du livre d’artiste, amongst others. In 2018, she was recognised as one of the three Magazine Visual Editors of the Year in Pictures of the Year International (POY75).
Katarzyna Łata
Visual artist, photographer, curator, and promoter of photography; Ph.D. in Fine Arts; university lecturer. Director of the Sosnowiec Art Center “Zamek Sielecki.” Chair of the Artistic Council of the Association of Polish Art Photographers (ZPAF).
Initiator and coordinator of Gallery Night in Katowice (NOC-K, 2015–2025). Curator of the ZPAF KATOWICE Gallery (2000–2017), the City of Gardens Gallery in Katowice (through 2025), Vice President for Artistic Affairs of the Silesian District of ZPAF (2002–2005), and President of the Silesian District of ZPAF (2005–2017). Coordinator of the “CreArt Network of Cities for Artistic Creation” (2017–2022).
Author of dozens of solo exhibitions, numerous group exhibitions, and photographic happenings. She has curated over 400 exhibitions and served as a juror for many photography competitions and portfolio reviews. In 2010, she received an award from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and in 2017, the Bronze Medal “Gloria Artis” for Distinguished Service to Culture. Her works are held in the collections of, among others, the National Museum in Kraków, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the ZPAF Photo Archive in Warsaw.
