Are you working on a photography project but need an outside perspective? Do you want to check whether you’re heading in the right direction, find a way to develop your idea, or wonder whether and how your project could become a book?
During the Paper Photo Festival, we invite you to 20-minute one-on-one consultations with publishers from RUST Publishing and BLOW UP PRESS.
This is not a portfolio review. It’s not about evaluating your photos or giving your project a “yes” or “no.” It’s a conversation about your project—its concept, potential, structure, narrative, and possible directions for further development.
Bring a project that’s important to you, along with a question you’re seeking an answer to. It can be in the early stages or already close to its final form. We’ll discuss what works, what’s worth rethinking, and what decisions can help the project become a stronger, more cohesive whole.
You can ask about, among other things:
- developing and refining the project concept,
- editing and building a narrative,
- the project’s potential as a photobook,
- possible forms of publication,
- preparing the project for a meeting with a publisher,
- next steps and decisions worth making at this stage.

RUST Publishing is an independent publishing house focused on contemporary photography and experimental forms of publication. BLOW UP PRESS is an independent publishing house specializing in original photography books. For years, it has been developing projects in which photography and the book’s form serve, above all, the story being told.
